About
Quinton Jia Qi Yang found his professional calling in Canberra, starting his career with Canberra Health Services in 2019. He completed his medical training at the University of New South Wales with academic honors and further trained at St George and Sutherland Hospital, Sydney, as well as three other regional hospitals.
Dr. Yang's career trajectory took a turn towards cardiology after a personal experience with a sudden cardiac event in the family. Motivated by the insidious nature of this illness, he dedicated himself to cardiovascular medicine, particularly in rural NSW. Dr. Yang worked in remote hospitals in Shoalhaven, Wagga Wagga, and Coffs Harbour. He began specialising in cardiology in 2018, initially at Sutherland Hospital in Sydney, and then spent three years at Canberra Health Services from 2019 to 2021.
Actively involved in patient and family education, Dr. Yang's commitment to enhancing health literacy, access, and preventive medicine earned him the prestigious William Coupland Award for Physician Trainee Educator of the Year in 2019 at the Canberra Hospital.
Dr. Yang's mission is to standardise cardiovascular care across local and regional areas, leveraging digital health for patients with early-onset coronary artery disease, cardiac failure, and chronic breathlessness.
